it's funny but i remember a few issues back that previewed (i think it was kravitz and zoro?) King's -X's Gerry Gaskill was going to be featured on the next issue, but was never on any of recent ones. i hope it's not what i think it is...... perhaps it's on-line? has anyone read / seen the interview?

That was only the second issue and it seems to be getting better each issue. A nice alternative to Rhythm.
Now that a few places are selling Drum! in the UK again I have plenty of drum inspiration every month.

By the by, John Blackwell recently did a clinic at Explorer's Percussion (Monday, Nov. 8th), and I heard it came out not so great. I had to teach and couldn't go. I was told he kept apologizing for his playing and appeared to still be mourning his daughter who recently drowned in the family pool. He also hadn't eaten all day. I think he was trying to do the clinic tour to get back on the horse & move on from his loss, but it doesn't sound like he is ready. I have heard that in the past, he was pretty cocky, but this seems to have humbled him quite a bit. My heart goes out to him and his family. Take time to heal, John. The drums will be there when you get back.

Just got my MD. I still like MD, but the new look...hmmm, might take awhile. I am not into graphics and new trends, but this looks like a real step down to me.
I have great respect for MR & Mrs. Spagnardi for creating MD and making it what it has become, but she might be a little off in her editor's overview in the Jan '05 issue; "I've never been prouder of MD...all of us are excited about the new changes...and the way it has grown in terms of content and number of pages...we're also very excited about our new logo..."

I think this change in MD is very overblown. I mean really... what is so different!? Even the logo has not undergone a drastic change... the format is still the same... the content... everything. The only change I see is that they put PRINCE on the cover!!! lol
